Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX), SR 528 at Boggy Creek Road/McCoy Road/Jetport Drive, Orange County, FL

Protean Design Group prepared design plans to improve traffic flow along McCoy Road/Boggy Creek Road at SR 528. The work included extending the existing inside eastbound left turn lane on Boggy Creek Road to provide dual left turn lanes between the westbound SR 528 ramp intersection and the Jetport Drive intersection. To enhance driver awareness through this area, Protean restriped the eastbound travel lane and turn lanes on McCoy Road and Jetport Drive and developed trailblazer and ground-mounted approach signage along eastbound McCoy Road, as well as a truss-mounted overhead signs at the eastbound Jetport Drive entrance ramp onto SR 528. Additional project elements included signal timing analysis, milling and resurfacing, temporary traffic control plans (TTCP), signing and pavement markings, geotechnical analysis, and utility coordination.
